Commander Calls on the Acting CDS and Commander of the Army
The newly appointed Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana made his first official call on the Acting Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva this morning (5 November 2020) at Army Headquarters.
In accordance with Army traditions on arrival at the Army Headquarters, Air Marshal Pathirana inspected the Guard Turn Out and received a Guard of Honour salute as well. At the entrance Lieutenant General Silva warmly received the visiting newly appointed Commander of the Air Force and introduced him to the Principal Staff Officers of the Army.
During the ensuing cordial discussion, Lieutenant General Silva conveyed his best wishes to Air Marshal Pathirana on his new appointment as the Commander of the Air Force. The two Commanders made an exchange of mementos to mark the occasion as well. The Commander of the Air Force also placed a note in the VIP Visitors Book before departing.
