Commander Calls on the Marshal of the Sri Lanka Air Force
The newly appointed Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana made his maiden official call on the Marshal of the Sri Lanka Air Force Roshan Goonetileke this morning (6 November 2020) at the Office of the Governor of the Western Province in Battaramulla. This is the first occasion that an Air Force Commander has made an official call on the Marshal of the Sri Lanka Air Force after being promoted to the prestigious five star rank.
During the ensuing cordial discussion, Marshal of the Sri Lanka Air Force conveyed his best wishes to Air Marshal Pathirana on his new appointment as the Commander of the Air Force. The Marshal of the Sri Lanka Air Force and the visiting Commander has a glorious history behind them as Air Marshal Pathirana was an active Combat Fighter Pilot and also commanded a Fighter Squadron under the leadership of the then, Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Goonetileke (2006 - 2011).
The Marshal of the Sri Lanka Air Force and the Commander made an exchange of mementos to mark this historical occasion.
