6th Aviation Contingent depart for Central African Republic (MINUSCA)

Annual changing of personnel of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Aviation Unit under the United Nations helicopter deployment in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) departed the country during early hours today (10 November 2020).

The 6th contingent of 110 personnel comprise of 18 Officers and 92 Airmen departed to Central Africa from Bandaranaike International Airport.  Wing Commander JS Samarasekara will lead this Contingent as the Contingent Commander.


Sri Lanka Air Force, is the only aerial arm among the Sri Lanka Armed Forces, responsible for defending the nation's airspace and supporting its sister services for all kind of operations.
