CHANGE OF COMMAND AT SLAF STATION WEERAWILA
The change of command at Sri Lanka Air Force Station Weerawila was held today (1 December 2020).
The outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain Thushara Sirimanne USP, MDS, MPM, MCR, LLB, Attorney at Law, Notary Public, Commissioner for Oaths, Pg Dip (IR), AMIPM, MIM (SL), psc handed over the duties to Group Captain Rajinth Jayawardena USP, MSc (Def Stu) in Mgt, MDS, BA (Def Stu), psc. The new Commanding Officer was in the appointment of Directing Staff (I) of the Air Wing at the Defence Services Command and Staff College Sapugaskanda before being appointed to take over SLAF Station Weerawila.
The traditional Handing Over/Taking Over Parade was held where the Outgoing Commanding Officer thanked all Service and Civilians personnel for their support extended to him during his tenure as the Commanding Officer. Group Captain Thushara Sirimanne will subsequently take over a Staff Officer appointment at the Directorate of Administration, Air Force Headquarters.
