SECOND REPLACEMENT GROUP DEPARTS SRI LANKA FOR 5TH SLAF AVIATION CONTINGENT OF UNMISS

Second Group of the 5th contingent of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Aviation Unit under the United Nations Mission in the Republic of South Sudan (UNMISS) departed the country during early hours today (10 December 2020).

The second group consisting of 52 SLAF personnel departed for South Sudan from Bandaranaike International Airport. The Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Vice Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa and Officers of the SLAF UN Cell were present during the departure formalities conducted at SLAF Base Kautnayake.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
