4TH AIRMAN-TO-AIRMAN STAFF TALK BETWEEN SLAF AND USAF CONCLUDE ON A HIGH NOTE

The 4th SLAF- USAF Airman to Airman Staff Talks (AAST) between the Sri Lanka Air Force and the United States Air Force, was held from 16 to 17 December 2020 through video conferencing. The Sri Lankan delegation was led by Air Vice Marshal HSS Thuyacontha, Director Training of SLAF and United States delegation was led by Major General Tyler Otten, Mobilization Assistant to the Commander of the Pacific Air Forces (PACAF).

These Staff Talks are one of the most important events focused on strengthening the relationship and to see renewed dynamism to achieve expected goals between the two Air Forces in coming years.

Air Vice Marshal Thuyacontha appreciated the support and help offered by US Air Force throughout and highlighted the importance of enhancing the SLAF capabilities especially in the areas of Maritime Domain Awareness, Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief and Cyber Security.

Major General Otten highlighted the importance of such events to deepen the partnership between the two nations and to ensure the security of nations in the Indo- Pacific region.

The 4th SLAF- USAF Airman to Airman Staff Talks were successfully concluded with the achieving of expected goals and ceremonially signing of minutes by both Heads of the Delegations.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
