CONEX-21 SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDES IN WESTERN SEAS

The third edition of “Colombo Naval Exercise - 2021” (CONEX-21), hosted by the Sri Lanka Navy, concluded on a successful note, off western seas on 10 February 2021. The final day exercises of CONEX – 21 held in seas off Colombo for the third consecutive day was reviewed by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne.

A contingent of MI-17, Bell 412 and Bell 212 helicopters and an observation aircraft, B- 200 Beach King aircraft from SLAF was deployed as a supportive element for the exercise. A number of exercises were conducted, displaying naval cohesion and operational readiness. Further, both naval and air assets engaged in the exercise enhanced their interoperability over the maritime domain.
 
Meanwhile, the exercise was conducted with strict compliance to health guidelines that are in effect to control the spread of COVID – 19.

 

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
