NO. 02 ADRS AT VAVUNIYA CELEBRATES 15TH ANNIVERSARY
No. 02 Air Defence Radar Squadron at SLAF Base Vavuniya celebrated its 15th anniversary yesterday (10 March 2021) under the guidance of the Commanding Officer, Wing Commander DRT Mallawaarachchi.
Concurrently, a ‘Kovil Pooja’ was arranged at the Kovil inside the Base to invoke blessings on past and present members of the Squadron as well as to the SLAF and the nation.
In line with the anniversary, a Community Service Project was conducted at Koomankulam Sithi Vinayagar Vidyalaya in Vavuniya giving prominence to social activities and racial unity. Further, a volleyball court was prepared and sports items were donated to the school by the Squadron personnel.
The customary Working Parade was held at the Squadron and was followed by a tree-planting programme within the Squadron premises to mark this event.
