SLAF REGIMENT OFFICER CADETS TAKE PART IN A JOINT EXERCISE WITH SL ARMY OFFICER CADETS

SLAF Regiment Officer Cadets joined in for “Exercise Scorpion”, a combined joint military training exercise with SL Army Officer Cadets after 21 years as per the directives given by Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana. This exercise which is part of the Counter Revolutionary Phase of training was conducted in the general area of Wellawaya from 15 March 21 to 27 March 21 as a joint training exercise with SL Army Officer Cadets and Regiment Branch SLAF Officer Cadets.

The training exercise was conducted to expose SLAF Officer Cadets to Internal Security Operations in a joint environment and different tactical contexts, enabling them to explore new experiences with varied training objectives such as joint infantry environment to assist the Army role, enhance comradeship with sister services, improve combat competencies, identify constraints in military applications and allow instructors to share experience and gain new exposure.

The SLAF Exercise Contingent was led by the Officer Commanding Training, Wing Commander RND Senadheera along with Wing Commander MDPB Medawatta (Chief Instructor Cadet Training) on the directives of Commanding Officer of the SLAF Combat Training School at Diyatalawa, Air Commodore PSN Fernando.
