AIR WARRIORS COMMEMORATED AT RATMALANA

Sri Lanka Air Force Base Ratmalana made floral tributes to the Officers and Airmen who laid down their lives in the name of our beloved motherland at Ranaviru Monument at SLAF Base Ratmalana yesterday (19 May 2021).

Due to the COVID 19 restrictions only a few senior Officers and a cross section of Other Ranks attended for the ceremony which was held with the participation of the Base Commander of SLAF Base Ratmalana, Air Commodore Dhammika Dias.

The ceremony commenced with an observance of a 2 minute silence in honour of those who made the supreme sacrifice. The Base Commander and Base Warrant Officer made floral tributes to the war heroes on behalf of all Officers and Airmen. The ceremony was concluded with the playing of the “Last Post” and “Reveille”.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
