SLAF CONDUCT BASIC FIRE FIGHTER TRAINING FOR SRI LANKA ARMY PERSONNEL

The Fire School and Fire Tender Maintenance Squadron (FS & FTMS) at SLAF Base Katunayake conducted a Basic Firefighter Training Course for Sri Lanka Army personnel. The duration of the course was 14 working days and the fourteen (14) trainees made up of an Officer and 13 Other Rankers took part in the course of training. Moreover, the course was conducted under strictly adherences to COVID-19 health guidelines.

The course curriculum consisted with theoretical and the practical training facets which were designed to expose firefighters to real fire risks or hazardous situations. The instructional assistance was provided by Flighy Sergeant Jayasinghe JASK, Sergeant Chturanga JADLN and Corporal Nanadasena PLCS throughout the training sessions.

At the end of the course, the trainees were evaluated through the modes of written, practical and oral tests to affirm their competency.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
