COMMANDER'S INSPECTION OF SLAF BASE KATUNAYAKE

The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, conducted the Commander’s Inspection of Sri Lanka Air Force Base Katunayake yesterday (15 July 2021).

The Commander reviewed the Commander’s Inspection Parade commanded by the Base Commander of SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Vice Marshal RAUP Rajapaksa and awarded Certificates of Commendation to 4 Flight Sergeants, a Corporal and 3 Leading Aircraftman during the parade.

During the course of the inspection the Commander visited all areas of the Base. The Commander also declared open the newly constructed Holiday Home at Katunayake, “The Eagles’ Guest” and the newly established Armament Repair and Overhaul Wing.

In conclusion the Commander addressed all personnel of the Base where he thanked all of them for their tireless effort in maintaining the largest Air Base of our country to exceptionally high standards. The inspection was carried out with adherences to restrictions with respect to the prevention of the spread of COVID-19.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
