The change of command of SLAF Station Palaly took place today (02 August 2021) where the traditional Handing Over/ Taking Over Parade was conducted at the Station Parade Square. The Outgoing Commanding Officer, Air Commodore DCI Weerasooriya USP, isc, psc handed over command to Group Captain H W R Chandima RWP, RSP, USP, MSc (Mgt).

The Outgoing Commanding Officer, Air Commodore Weerasooriya took over command of SLAF Station Palaly in April this year and will be proceeding to Air Force Headquarters to take over the appointment of Command Development Project Officer. He also addressed the parade and all personnel of the Station where he thanked them for the support they had extended during his tenure as the Commanding Officer.

Group Captain Chandima previously held the appointment of Staff Officer Ground I at the Directorate of Ground Operations in Colombo before being appointed to command SLAF Station Palaly.
