SLAF HANDS OVER TWO (02) HEATED HUMIDIFIED OXYGEN THERAPY UNITS

The Sri Lanka Air Force handed over two (02) Heated Humidified Oxygen Therapy Units today (04 August 2021) to health authorities at Air Force Headquarters. The handing over was done by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana. Director of Health Services in the Central Province, Dr. Nihal Weerasuriya accepted the vital equipment on behalf of health authorities.

The Heated Humidified Oxygen Therapy Units were manufactured by the General Engineering Wing at Katunayake together with the electronical design which was done by the Electronics and Telecommunications Wing at Ratmalana. According to Dr. Weerasuriya, these units will be deployed at Theldeniya Base Hospital and the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital where they will be used to treat patients with COVID-19.

Todays event was attended by the Director Aeronautical Engineering, Director Health Services, Acting Director General Engineering, Commanding Officer of the General Engineering Wing at Katunayake, Technical Officers of the project and a few Other Rankers.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
