SLAF Station Koggala proudly marked its 37th Anniversary yesterday (19 October 2021) under the Command of its 27th Commanding Officer, Group Captain RMT Rajapaksha USP, MSc (Def & Strat Stu), MBA (Log Mgt), Pg Dip (Def Mgt), psc.

The anniversary day proceedings commenced with a traditional Working Parade and an address to All Ranks and civilians by the Commanding Officer where he stressed the importance and historical value of the Station. Further, he appreciated the valuable contributions made by all the service personnel including civilian staff during challenging circumstances to the prevailing COVID-19 situation.

Subsequently, a Tree Planting programme was conducted at the Station premises with the participation of the Commanding Officer, all Officers and Other Ranks. Further, a Cricket tournament and an all ranks lunch was organized in order to develop unity among all ranks and civilian staff at the Station.

In line with the anniversary celebrations, a “Blood Donation” programme and a “Shramadana Campaign” was conducted at the Station premises and “Peellagoda Sumanajothi Maha Vidyalaya” on the 12th and 15th of October 2021 respectively. Further, a donation programme was conducted at “Somawathi Children Orphanage” as well on 18 October 2021. All events were held with adherence to health guidelines for the prevention of spreading COVID-19.
