POPPY FLOWER PINNED ON THE COMMANDER

In Commemoration of Remembrance Day 2021, the President of the Sri Lanka Ex-Servicemen’s Association, Major General Upul Perera (Retd) pinned on the poppy flower on the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana at Air Force Headquarters this morning (28 October 2021). The income earned by selling Poppy Flowers will be used for the welfare of retired and disabled war veterans.

The Association’s Secretary General, Lieutenant Colonel Ajith Siyambalapitiya (Retd), Treasurer, Maj Shanthilal Kankanamge (Retd), Flight Lieutenant Sugath Rajapaksa (Retd), Vice President (SLAF), Mr. A Padmasiri, Assistant Secretary (SLAF) and Ms. Chulani Sirimewan, Member Poppy Committee were also present at the occasion. Poppy flowers were also pinned on to a few members of the Air Force Board of Management as well.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
