SLAF SOUTHERN AIR COMMAND CELEBRATES FIRST YEAR OF SERVICE TO THE NATION
The Southern Air Command at SLAF Base Kat proudly marked its 01st Anniversary yesterday (10 November 2021) under the Command of its current Air Commander, Air Vice Marshal RAUP Rajapaksa RSP and two Bars, USP, MSc (MOA) USA, MSc (Def Stu) in Mgt, MA in IS&S (UK), BSc (Def Stu), MIM (SL), rcds, psc.
The anniversary day proceedings commenced with Tree planting ceremony at Southern Air Command Head Quarters surrounds.
In line with the anniversary celebrations, a Shramadana Campaign was conducted at Heenatiyana Temple on 08, 09 and 10 November 2021. A community service project was conducted in the form of commencing renovation of the Base Church. Further, all events were held with adherence to health guidelines for the prevention of spreading COVID-19.
