SLAF STATION KATUKURUNDA CELEBRATES 37 YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE NATION
SLAF Station Katukurunda proudly celebrated its 37th anniversary yesterday (16 November 2021) under the guidance of the Commanding Officer, Air Commodore Mohan Balasuriya.
A traditional Working Parade was held at the Station Parade Square which was reviewed by the Commanding Officer. The celebration commenced with an Elle tournament to develop unity among all Ranks and civilian staff of the Station followed by the lunch for all ranks.
In line with the anniversary celebrations, a Blood Donation programme was conducted at the house of the First Commanding Officer of the SLAF Katukunda Flight Lieutenant S Edussooriya which was donated to SLAF recently. Futher, a Shramadana Campaign was also conducted at “Marcsri Saranaseva Nivahana” Child Orphanage and “Thapo Wanaya Temple” in parallel to the 37th celebration of the Station.
Further, all events were held adhering to health guidelines issued for the prevention of spreading COVID-19.
