SLAF BELL 212 AND DRONES CONDUCT AERIAL TRAFFIC TRACKING IN COLOMBO AREA

The traffic congestion, consistent issue has arisen for commuters who travel to and from Colombo and suburbs due to the gradual resuming of the new normal after COVID – 19 pandemic.

Therefore, according to the instructions given by the President, His Excellency Gotabaya Rajapaksa and the guidance provided by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana the SLAF launched a joint operation with the Sri Lanka Police utilizing a Bell 212 helicopter and drones to track traffic flow in the Colombo area today (25 November 2021).

This missions were carried out at Nelum Pokuna Junction, Ayurweda Junction, Diyatha Uyana area, Panchikawatta area, New Kelani Bridge area and the Parliament Junction.
