ALL NIGHT PIRITH CHANTING CEREMONY AT AIR FORCE HEADQUARTERS

Under the guidance and directives by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana the main Pirith Chanting Ceremony was held at Air Force Headquarters yesterday (2 January 2022) to invoke blessings on all personnel of the Air Force and their families, fallen air warriors and on the entire nation.
 
Prior to the commencement of Ceremony, the ‘Reliquary’ (Karaduwa) was brought to Air Force Headquarters in a colorful procession and was placed in the ‘Pirith Mandapaya’ by the Commander of the Air Force.
 
Subsequently, an almsgiving was accorded to the Venerable Maha Sangha today morning (03 January 2022) with the participation of Venerable Dr. Kirinde Assaji Thero, the Deputy Incumbent of the Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo.
 
The Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Prasanna Payoe, members of the Air Force Board of Management, Senior Officers and All Ranks participated for the all night Pirith Chanting Ceremony as well as for the Almsgiving. These events were conducted with adherence to health guidelines which have been set up for the prevention of COVID-19.
