23RD PHASE OF GUWAN MITHUDAM COMPLETED AT WEERAWILA
The 23rd phase of “Guwan Mithudam” project successfully concluded at “Weerawila Maha Vidyala” yesterday (20 January 2022) by Sri Lanka Air Force Station Weerawila under the guidance of Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana.
Weerawila Maha Vidyalaya facilitates for 125 underprivileged students in the area. The entire school buildings, Buddha’s shrine and ablution blocks were renovated, painted and handed over to the school children. Moreover, all the broken desks and chairs were repaired in view of improving the learning environment of the students.
This project was funded by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit and SLAF Station Weerawila. The project successfully completed under the supervision of Commanding Officer SLAF Station Weerawila, Group Captain Asoka Koralage. A cross section of Officers and Other Ranks of SLAF Station Weerawila, teachers, students and their parents attended to witness the occasion. The event was held under the strict health guidelines in view of prevention of COVID-19.
