ANNUAL “JAYA PIRITH” CHANTING REVERBERATES AT BANDARANAIKE MEMORIAL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE HALL

The Annual “Jaya Pirith” Chanting reverberated yesterday (26 January 2022) at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall under the patronage of the President, His Excellency Gotabaya Rajapaksa which was coordinated by the Ministry of Defence with the cooperation of the Tri Forces.

The Pirith chanting was held with the participation of 1,000 Buddhist monks invited from around the country including the prelates of the three chapters to invoke blessings on all Sri Lankans who are being strained from the pandemic.

The solemn event was attended by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Secretary to the State Ministry of National Security and Disaster Management, Commanders of Army and Navy, Inspector General of Police, Government Officials, Military Officers and family members of fallen war heroes.

Subsequently, the proceeding was concluded this morning (27 January 2022) by according of an almsgiving to the Venerable Maha Sangha at the same premises.
