The Non Commissioned Officers’ Management School at SLAF Academy China Bay conducted the Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the No. 15 English Medium and No. 86 Sinhala Medium Non Commissioned Officers’ Management Courses today (28 January 2022) under the patronage of the Command Development Project Officer of the SLAF, Air Commodore DCI Weerasooriya as the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest was received by the Commanding Officer of the NCO Management School, Wing Commander RND Senadheera.

The primary objective of conducting this course is to transfer a sound academic and managerial knowledge and sharpening leadership qualities within the Non Commissioned Officers of the Tri-Forces. The course ran through a well-formed syllabus over a scheduled period of 14 weeks. Both courses were affiliated to the University of Rajarata and all Non Commissioned Officers who fulfilled the required criteria were awarded with a Certificate in Management.

The No. 15 English Medium and No. 86 Sinhala Medium comprised of 59 Senior Non Commissioned Officers, 86 Junior Non Commissioned Officers from the SLAF and 02 Senior Non Commissioned Officers from the SL Army. At the Ceremony 147 awardees received certificates to mark the successful completion of the courses.

Flight Sergeant Gunarathne MGIP (Motor Transport Mechanic) and Corporal Chandrasiri MTCV (Dental Technician) were secured as the Best All-Round Senior and Junior Non Commissioned Officers of the No. 15 English Medium, while Flight Sergeant Gunasekara WMJJA (Fire Fighter) and Corporal Jayalath Bandara WDS (Dental Technician) were adjudged as the Best All-Round Senior and Junior Non Commissioned Officers of the No.86 Sinhala Medium Courses respectively.
