The SLAF Women Weightlifters secured the Runners Up position at the Sri Lanka Novices Weightlifting Championship - 2022 which was held from 11th to 13th February 2022 at the Poddiwala National College, Galle.

The performances of Leading Aircraftwoman De Silva YNS under the 87 kg weight category, Leading Aircraftwoman Gankanda GDIM under the 49 kg weight category, Leading Aircraftwoman Jayamangala JDHM under the 71 kg weight category and Leading Aircraftwoman  Madhushani DKCN under the 76 kg weight category earned the gold medals for the SLAF and paved the way to secure this title whilst University of Jaffna secured the Championship.

Leading Aircraftman Kumara GHM who competed under Men's 89 kg weight category also won a bronze medal in the competition.
