The Change of Command at No. 4 VVIP Squadron , SLAF Base Ratmalana held yesterday (02 May 2022) where the Group Captain KADAC Kuruwita WV, WWV, RSP, USP, MMS (Mil Com), BSc (Def Stu) in Mgt, Pg Dip (Def Mgt), psc, qhi handed over the command to Group Captain DL Hewavitharana WV, RWP and Bar, RSP and three Bars, USP, MMS (Mil Com-PRC), BSc (Def Stu), Pg Dip (Def Mgt), psc, qhi. The traditional Handing over Taking over parade was conducted at the squadron premises with the participation of squadron personnel.

The outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain KADAC Kuruwita will be preceded to a training course at Air War College in USA. The newly appointed Commanding Officer, Group Captain DL Hewavitharana previously held the appointment of Staff Officer Air Operations I at the Directorate of Air Operations.

After assuming the command, Group Captain DL Hewavitharana addressed all squadron personnel and appreciated the dedicated service of his predecessor and acknowledged the enormous progress made during his tenure. He also requested all personnel to continue their good work with the same dedication and enthusiasm.
