The change of command at Command Agro Unit SLAF Base Katunayake held yesterday (11 July 2022). The traditional Handing Over/Taking Over Parade was conducted at the Command Agro Unit where the outgoing Command Agro Officer, Air Commodore  RP Kodippily RSP and Bar, USP, MSc in (Mgt) handed over command to Group Captain PE Gunawardena USP, BVSc, (Hons), MVSc, PG Dip (Def Mgt), FSLCVS.

Air Commodore RP Kodippily took over the command of Command Agro Unit on 15 May 2021 and he will be proceeding to the Air Force Headquarters to take over the appointment of Command Development Project Officer.

The new Command Agro Officer, Group Captain PE Gunawardena held the appointments of Deputy Command Welfare Project Officer (Dy CWPO), Acting Command Welfare Project Officer (Actg. CWPO) SLAF Base Ratmalana and Manager Animal Husbandry Projects at Command Agro Unit, before being appointed as the Command Agro Officer. Further, he has held the appointment of President Sri Lanka Veterinary Association (SLVA) and currently he is the Vice President of Sri Lanka Wrestling Federation.
