CHANGE OF COMMAND AT SLAF STATION PALAVI
The Change of Command at SLAF Station Palavi was held today (15 July 2022). The traditional Handing Over/Taking Over parade was conducted at the Station Parade Square where the outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain CJ Godakanda USP,BA (Def Stu),psc handed over command to Group Captain SK Weerasekara USP, MSc(Def & Strat Stu),MHRM, Pg Dip(Def Mgt), MIM (SL), psc.
The outgoing Commanding Officer took over the Command of SLAF Station Palavi on 04 January 2021. During his tenure he has taken steps to complete construction work at Emergency Treatment Unit at the Station Hospital, new Accommodation Block at WOs’ & SNCOs’ Mess as well as to uplift the recreation facilities at Corporal’s and Airmen’s social clubs. Group Captain CJ Godakanda will be proceeding to the SLAF Base Ratmalana to take over the appointment of Commanding Officer, No.2 Leisure and Recreation Wing.
The new Commanding Officer, Group Captain SK Weerasekara held the appointment of Commanding Officer No. 24 Regiment Wing, SLAF Academy China Bay before being appointed to command of SLAF Station Palavi.
