Seva Vanitha Hands Over Newly Built House to The Killed in Action
A newly built house worth of Rs 1 million was donated to Mrs.
R Kumari the widow and the infant child of Cpl Chaminda Lakmal
Gunarathne who was killed in a terrorist attack at Morawewa on 09th
January 2009. The construction of the house was carried out
under the supervision of the Base Commander of Sri Lanka Air Force Base
Anuradhapura and his team.
The ceremony to
hand over the house was held on 27th August 2009 at Thalawa,
Anuradhpura. A fixed deposit certificate in favor of the
infant child was also granted by the Families Welfare Association of
Sri Lanka Air Force during the ceremony.
This project is one of the many housing projects undertaken by the Sri
Lanka Air Force Seva vanitha Unit under the guidance and direction of
its Chairperson Mrs. Nelun Goonathileke.

Force Seva Vanitha Unit and the relatives of the war hero were present
during the occasion.
