DEPUTY SOLICITOR GENERAL TAKES OATH TO PRESIDENT’S COMMISSION
Accomplishing a long-standing requirement, the Sri Lanka Air Force enlisted a Judge Advocate today (28 October 2022) with the guidance of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana and the approval of the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Deputy Solicitor General Mr. Sudarshana De Silva was appointed as the Judge Advocate and he was enlisted in the rank of Air Commodore. The oath ceremony was held at Air Force Headquarters Auditorium with the participation of Members of the Air Force Board of Management and Non-members of the Air Force Board of Management. Air Commodore Sudarshana De Silva is a senior officer in the Attorney General’s Department with experience as a Counsel for more than 24 years. He will be the principal advisor on aspects of law and procedure for Courts Martial to the prosecution and the accused relating to charges and trials.
