INTER UNIT ATHLETIC CHAMPIONSHIP 2022
The Inter Unit Athletic Championship 2022 was conducted at SLAF Base Katunayake from 31st October to 01st November 2022. The awards ceremony was held at the sports arena at the same venu with the graceful presence of the Director Civil Engineers, Air Vice Marshal Udula Wijesinghe as the Chief Guest.
SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa claimed the Championships of the both Men's and Women’s whilst SLAF Trade Training School Ekala emerged as Runners Up. Leading Aircraftman Nayanappriya RAD from SLAF Base Katunayake was awarded as the Best Male Athlete while Lady Officer Cadet Lakshani MKP from SLAF Academy China Bay awarded as the Best Female Athlete of the championship.
Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Vice Marshal Lasitha Sumanaweera, Director Sports, Air Commodore Senaka Fernandopulle, Chairman SLAF Athletics, Group Captain Deepal Munasinghe, Members of the Air Force Sports Council and other invitees participated to witness the final session.
