POPPY FLOWER PINNED ON THE COMMANDER

In Commemoration of Remembrance Day 2022, the President of Sri Lanka Ex-Servicemen’s Association, Major General Upul Perera (Retd) pinned the poppy flower on Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana at Air Force Headquarters this morning (02 November 2022). The income earned by selling Poppy Flowers will be used for the welfare of retired and disabled war veterans.

The President of the Tri-forces Remembrance Committee, Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya (Retd), the President Air Force Association, Air Vice Marshal Elmo Perera (Retd), Association’s Secretary General, Lieutenant Colonel Ajith Siyambalapitiya (Retd), Treasurer, Major Shanthilal Kankanamge (Retd) and Members Poppy Committee Mr. JA Spiarine and Mrs. WMPP Weerakoon were also present at the event.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
