The SLAF Base Hingurakgoda celebrated its 44th anniversary today (23 November 2022). A series of events, including community service projects, religious observances and recreational activities were organized under the guidance of the Base Commander SLAF Base Hingurakgoda, Group Captain KMSPB Kulathunga together with all officers, other ranks and the civilian staff.

The day’s celebrations commenced with the customary working parade. A religious programme and a cricket match were held at the Airmen's mess and Base playground respectively as the event culminated in an all ranks lunch.

To coincide with the anniversary celebrations a blood donation campaign, an eye screening programme, medical and dental clinics for students at Sri Rahula Vidyalaya and villagers of Medirigiriya and a planting event Jackfruit saplings was conducted in the village today. During the eye screening programme, sixty pairs of reading glasses were donated to the required personnel.
