NO. 01 LEISURE AND RECREATION WING CELEBRATES 11TH ANNIVERSARY

The No. 01 Leisure and Recreation Wing at SLAF Academy China Bay celebrated its 11th Anniversary today (07 January 2023). The day’s proceedings commenced with sporting events that were organized at the Marble Beach Resort premises. Addressing the personnel, the Commanding Officer Group Captain Viranga Premawardana recalled the services rendered by the Wing in the hospitality industry while earning a remarkable reputation and significant work outputs. The Commandant of the SLAF Academy China Bay, Air Commodore Deshapriya Silva graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The Commanding Officers of all formations of the Academy also participated in the event. Along with the formation day celebrations, food and essential items were donated to the children at "Rewatha Lama Niwasaya" in Trincomalee. The Shramadana campaigns were conducted at "Rewatha Lama Niwasaya" and "Siddhartha School" in Trincomalee with the participation of all personnel of the Wing.

The No. 01 Leisure and Recreation Wing SLAF Academy China Bay was established on 07 January 2012 as an independent formation of SLAF to provide leisure and recreation facilities for the service personnel and their family members, while achieving the objective of earning additional revenue for the welfare of SLAF personnel
