SPECIAL AWARENESS PROGRAMME FOR SLAF WOMEN

Sri Lanka Air Force Women’s Wing, under the guidance of the Commanding Officer Women’s Wing, Air Commodore Manoaj Kappetipola, organized a full-day special awareness programme for SLAF Lady Officers and Airwomen on "How to avoid sexual harassments" and "Breast Cancer Awareness" today (17 February 2023) at SLAF Trade Training School Ekala. More than 300 Lady Officers and Airwomen participated with great enthusiasm all day long.

The sessions conducted with the great assistance of resource personnel namely, Professor Arosha Adikaram, the Proffesor of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Management and Finance in University of Colombo conducted the subject of "How to avoid sexual Harassments" and Dr. Lanka Jayasuriya Dissanayake, the Chairperson of the Indira Cancer Trust in Maharagama.  

The event was attended by Commanding Officer SLAF Women’s Wing, Deputy Director Administration, Air Commodore Manoaj Kappetipola, Group Captain Priyadarshani Wijenayake, Consultant Surgeon – Colombo South Teaching Hospital, Dr. Kanchana Wijesinghe, TLC Campaign Coordinator in Indira Cancer Trust, Mrs. Karen Amerasinghe, Mr. Methsara Beneragama, Survivor/ ICT Volunteer, Mrs. Thumendrika George, Dr. Yohanne, a cross section of lady officer and airwomen representing all the SLAF establishments.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
