52ND PHASE OF GUWAN MITHUDAM PROJECT CONCLUDES AT VAVUNIYA
The 52nd phase of the 'Guwan Mithudam' project was successfully concluded at the Gunananda Primary School in Vavuniya today (18 March 2023). The Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Approximately 95 students are receiving their education at this school and a building that had not been repaired for years has been renovated and colour washed in order to make a suitable environment for their studies. This building was handed over to the children of this primary school and exercise books were also donated to them during the occasion. This project was funded by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit and SLAF Base Vavuniya and the project was completed under the supervision of the Base Commander of SLAF Base Vavuniya, Group Captain Poojana Gunathilake.
The Base Commander of SLAF Base Vavuniya, a cross-section of officers and other ranks of the base, as well as the staff of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, attended the occasion.
