CERTIFICATE AWARDING CEREMONY OF NO. 171 INTAKE FIRE FIGHTER BASIC TRADE TRAINING COURSE 01/2022
The Certificate Awarding Ceremony of No. 171 Intake Fire Fighter Basic Trade Training Course 01/2022 was held at the Fire School and Fire Tender Maintenance Squadron of Sri Lanka Air Force Base Katunayake, yesterday (20 April 2023). The Chief Fire Officer, Group Captain WKASW Vithana, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The course was conducted through a well-formed syllabus over a scheduled period of six months and the training programme focused on domestic firefighting, aircraft firefighting, fire service engineering science, fire service operation, breathing apparatus, fire detection and protection systems, fire service pumps, fire prevention, rope rescue, aerodrome lighting systems, and first aid.
A total of 18 trainees received the certificates on the occasion and Aircraftman Arnold PVS was adjudged the best student of the course.
The ceremony was attended by the Commanding Officer Fire School and Fire Tender Maintenance Squadron, Wing Commander CP Hettiarachchi, all officers, and other ranks of the Squadron.
