Department of Prison Unites with Guwan Hamuda Herali Peraliya
As per the guidance of Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana "Guwan Hamuda Herali Peraliya" campaign was successfully introduced to the Department of Prison today (27 April 2023).
This was one of the major events conducted by the Sri Lanka Air Force with the aim of introducing the “ Herali Peraliya “ concept to main Government organizations in view of assisting the Government mission to achieve food security , in par with 75th National Independence Day events .
The event was conducted with the participation of Command Agro Officer Air Commodore Erandika Gunawadane and several Higher ranking officers of the Prison Department including Prison Commisoner Mr KAS Kodithuwakku and Prison Superintendent of Mahara SP Gajanayaka.
Further, the Prison Department has highlighted their capability and willingness to actively participate for the success of this national project by utilizing their manpower and land space to cultivate Jack food saplings and preparation of planting bags .
