INTRODUCING GUWAN HAMUDA HERALI PERALIYA TO SCHOOLS COMMENCES IN DARMASHOKA COLLEGE
As per the guidance of Commander of the Air
Force Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana "Guwan Hamuda Herali
Peraliya" campaign was successfully introduced to the School
Level commencing its first step from Dharmashoka College Amabalangoda on 04 May 2023.
This was one of the major events conducted by the Sri Lanka Air Force with the aim of introducing “Guwan Hamuda Herali Peraliya” concept to the School Level in view of assisting the Government's mission to achieve food security, in par with 75th National Independence Day events.
The event was conducted with the participation of Airforce Service personnel, Principal Captain Sanuja Jayawickrama, project coordinator Ven, Athimale Sadhdhalankara thero, school staff and school children of the Dharmashoka College.
Further, the school principal highlighted their capability and willingness to actively participate in this national project by employing school children and land space to cultivate Jack saplings in eco-friendly coconut husks instead of polythene bags and donate them to "Guwan Hamuda Herali Perliya" Programme.
