INTER UNIT ATHLETIC CHAMPIONSHIP 2023
The 57th Inter Unit Athletic Championship 2023 was conducted at SLAF Base Katunayake on 18 and 19 May 2023. The awarding ceremony was held in the same venue with the presence of Director General Logistics, Air Vice Marshal Nishantha Thilakasinghe as the Chief Guest.
SLAF Academy China Bay and SLAF Trade Training School Ekala won the joint Championship in women’s category and SLAF Station Colombo secured as the overall Champions of the men’s category whilst SLAF Trade Training School Ekala emerged as Runners Up. Leading Aircraftman Madumal WC from SLAF Base Katunayake Technical Wing was awarded as the Best Male Athlete while Lady Officer Cadet Lakshani MKP from SLAF Academy China Bay awarded as the Best Female Athlete at the championship.
Acting Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Commodore Saman Udukumbura, Chairman SLAF Athletics, Air Commodore Deepal Munasinghe, Members of the Air Force Sports Council and other invitees participated to witness the final session.
