In celebration of World Environment Day, which is celebrated annually on 5th June, SLAF establishments have undertaken various programmes aimed at raising a cleaner and greener environment. Notably, SLAF Station Mullaitivu launched a programme involving the planting of approximately 200 cashew saplings within the camp premises on 5th June 2023. This initiative was made possible through a generous donation from Central Finance Company.

Similarly, SLAF Station Sigiriya has taken the initiative to organize a Cleaning Campaign at the renowned Sigiriya Fortress, recognized as a UNESCO-listed world heritage site. The campaign is being conducted in collaboration with the Central Cultural Fund, showcasing a dedicated effort towards preserving and maintaining this historic site.

Through these programmes, SLAF aims to contribute positively to the protection and preservation of nature.
