In a bid to promote sustainable practices in parallel with the celebration of World Environmental Day and encourage conscious decision-making among officers, airmen, airwomen and civilians of Sri Lanka Air Force Base Ratmalana, a captivating guest lecture on the topic of “conscious consumerism towards a healthy life” on 08 June 2023 which was organized under the guidance of  Base Commander, Air Commodore Amal Perera. The two lecture sessions were delivered by renowned expert Mrs. Kachana Dilrukshi Kumari Weerakoon who is an environment conservationist, shedding light on the importance of mindful choices in the consumer realm and their far-reaching impact on society and the environment.

The lectures left a deep impact on the members of SLAF Base Ratmalana, inspiring them to reflect on their roles as consumers and citizens. Mrs. Weerakoon's passion and dedication instilled a sense of responsibility within the audience, empowering them to become conscious contributors to a sustainable future. The audience left the lecture hall equipped with newfound knowledge and a desire to make positive changes both within their personal lives and the wider community.
