DEFENCE SERVICES SWIMMING AND WATER POLO CHAMPIONSHIPS –2023

The 12th Defence Services Swimming and Water Polo Championship 2023 was successfully conducted at Aquatic Sports Complex, Sir Lanka Navy Welisara from 05th to 09th June 2023.
Lady Officer Cadet Savindi raised the SLAF flag flying highly by winning five gold medals in individual swimming events embedding her name in the history of the Defence Services Games. The SLAF Women’s Water Polo Team secured the Championship without any resistance from all counterparts and possessed the title once again. Also, the SLAF Men’s Water Polo Team had a close encounter with SL Army in the finals and the SLAF team clinched the Championship. Moreover, the SLAF Women’s Team secured overall Runners-Up in the Swimming Championship.
Rear Admiral TWW Leelarathne graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Chairman of SLAF Aquatic, Air Commodore SDGM Silva also participated in the awarding ceremony.
