ALL NIGHT PIRITH CHANTING CEREMONY
The Annual All Night Pirith Chanting Ceremony was held at SLAF Trade Training School Ekala yesterday (16 June 2023) under the directives of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, in line with the SLAF’s War Heroes Commemoration 2023.
This meritorious event was organized under the supervision of Director General Welfare, Air Vice Marshal Suharshie Fernando and coordinated by the Commanding Officer SLAF Trade Training School Ekala, Air Commodore Prasanna Martino, to invoke blessings on the souls of Fallen War Heroes as well as disabled War Veterans, their living family members, SLAF serving personnel and the entire Nation to have the strength and courage to move forward through these challenging times.
Prior to the commencement of the ceremony, the ‘Reliquary’ (Karaduwa) was brought to Trade Training School’s Airmen Mess in a colourful procession and was placed in the ‘Pirith Mandapaya’ by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana.
The Pirith Chanting Ceremony was attended by the Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana, Members of the Air Force Board of Management and their beloved spouses, Commanding Officer SLAF Trade Training School Ekala, Senior Officers, All Officers, Other Ranks of the Trade Training School and especially the beloved family members of the fallen war heroes.
Subsequently, almsgiving was accorded to the Venerable Maha Sangha this morning (17 June 2023) and was attended by Deputy Chief of Staff, Air Vice Marshal Roshan Biyanwila, members of the Air Force Board of Management, Commanding Officer SLAF Trade Training School Ekala, Senior Officers, all Officers and Other Ranks of the School and most importantly the loving family members of the war veterans.
