US EMBASSY CONDUCTS AN INSIGHTFUL LECTURE ON SMALL UNMANNED AERIAL SYSTEMS

With the approval of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, the Embassy of the United States of America recently organized an informative lecture on Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) at the Sri Lanka Air Force Base Ratmalana. The event was coordinated by Assistant Defense Attaché, Mr. Seth Navins.

The lecture featured distinguished speakers, Mr. Scott A. Burlette and Mr. Danitha D. Amarawardhana, who captivated the audience with their insights into various aspects of Small Unmanned Aerial Systems technology. Director Air Defence, Air Vice Marshal LH Sumnaweera and officers from different branches of the SLAF attended the programme.  

The lecture primarily focused on the categorization of Small Unmanned Aerial Systems and showcased real case studies demonstrating the application of such platforms in various attacks. Attendees gained valuable knowledge about the tactics, techniques and potential future capabilities of Small Unmanned Aerial Systems. The event facilitated collaboration and knowledge-sharing, thereby enhancing participants' understanding of Small Unmanned Aerial Systems operations and exploring the potential future capabilities.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
