The Fire School and Fire Tender Maintenance Squadron (FS&FTMS) Celebrated their 07th anniversary today  (27th August 2023). The Fire School and Fire Tender Maintenance Squadron was established in 2016 at SLAF Base Katunayake with a main goal of providing a training platform for firefighters and for the repair and maintenance of vehicles and pumps. Additionally, the Repair and Development (R&D) section at this squadron is responsible for repairing, maintaining, and refilling First Aid Fire Appliances (FAFAs).

The celebration of the formation day was marked with the participation of Base Commander SLAF Base Kat Air Commodore SDGM Silva, respective lodger formations COs of SLAF Base Katunayake, officers and other ranks of FS&FTMS on 27th August 2023. In line with the anniversary, Volleyball matches and entertaining event were also organized to make the event remarkable.

In connection with the anniversary celebration, a Shramadhana campaign, Fire awareness Programme and Fire Prevention inspection were conducted at the General Hospital in Minuwangoda.
