EAGLES’ INTERNATIONAL CHALLENGE HIKE 2023

Sri Lanka Air Force Air Scout Group organized the ‘Eagles’ International Challenge Hike 2023 at the Gampaha Pilikuththuwa mountain range area yesterday (14 October 2023) to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Air Scouting in Sri Lanka. Air Scouting in Sri Lanka was started by the Sri Lanka Air Force in 1972. Air Scouting is the largest Community Social Responsibility project of the Sri Lanka Air Force since 1972. At present Sri Lanka Air Scout Group has 08 Air Scout Troops and 06 Sub Air Scout Troops in Several Schools.

Eagles’ International Challenge Hike was organized with the guidance of   Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa and successfully conducted by Group Captain Paminda Jayawardena Chairman Sri Lanka Air Force Air Scout Group and Group Captain (Dr) Rajeev Pagoda Secretary of the Sri Lanka Air Force Air Scout Group.

More than 600 boys and girls Scouts have participated in the Challenge Hike by representing scouts all over the Island.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
