Professionals inducted into the Sri Lanka Air Force
Thirty three professionals in the fields of Information Technology,
Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering and Logistics received
commissions in the Sri Lanka Air Force Today.
Their
oath taking ceremony was held at the Air Force Headquarters Auditorium
at 0930 hours on 23 March 2011 under the patronage of the Commander of
the Air Force. The oath of commissioning and oath of allegiance was
administered by the Air Force Chief Recruiting Officer, Group Captain
HN Abeysinghe.
While welcoming them into the Air
Force, the Commander gave some insights of what the service expected of
them, what separates a civilian professional from a professional in the
armed forces, the challenges ahead and the boundless opportunities and
privileges they may enjoy while in uniform.
These
professionals left immediately for SLAF Station Diyatalawa to undergo
No. 55 Direct Entry Officers Course, as student offficers, for a period
of two month starting from 28 March 2011, after which they will be
taking up their respective appointments in different branches in the
SLAF.
