SLAF COMMANDER ATTENDS AIR AND SPACE POWER CONFERENCE 2024 IN AUSTRALIA

The Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, participated in the Air and Space Power Conference 2024, which concluded today (09 May 2024), at the National Convention Centre, Australia. The conference, held under the theme of "Building readiness and resilience in National Air and Space Power across the spectrum of competition." The conference examined lessons gathered from recent conflicts and industry experience to strategically position national air and space power for current and future challenges.

The two-day conference commenced yesterday (08 May 2024), with the welcome address delivered by Chief of Air Force of the Royal Australian Air Force, Air Marshal Rob Chipman and Chief of Joint Capabilities Group of the Australian Defence Force, Lieutenant General John Frewen. The first day's keynote address was presented by the Prime Minister's (UK) Special Envoy to the Western Balkans, Air Chief Marshal The Lord Stuart Peach, while the second day's keynote address was delivered by the Chief of Space Operations of the United States Space Force, General B Chance Saltzman.

Throughout the conference, discussions were centered on various topics including Historical Perspective of Military Posture and Readiness, Integrating Civilian and Military Space Capabilities, Building Ready and Resilient People to Enable Air and Space Operations and Threat Casting to Develop Sustainable Readiness and Resilience, among other key subjects.

The conference was attended by High Ranking Defence Leaders, policymakers, Australian Government Officials and military members representing different countries.
