SLAF PLAYERS PERFORMED AT THE NATIONAL TAEKWONDO CHAMPIONSHIP 2024

The Sri Lanka Air Force claimed victory in the National Taekwondo Championship 2024 after an exciting competition in the Sports Hostel Complex Gymnasium of the Ministry of Sports, Colombo-07, held from 20 May to 21 May, 2024.
The championship was graced by distinguished guests, including the Secretary of the Olympic Committee, President of the Sri Lanka Taekwondo Federation, Mr. Chaminda Punchihewa, Chairman of the SLAF Taekwondo, Air Vice Marshal VTS Srimanne and Secretary of the SLAF Taekwondo, Group Captain MWCM Wakita.
Representatives from 16 taekwondo clubs, including those from all three armed forces, the Sri Lanka Special Task Force, the National Youth Services Council and divisions across the island, participated in this fiercely contested event. Throughout the competition, the Sri Lanka Air Force exhibited remarkable skills. The journey to victory was marked by securing eight gold, three silver and three bronze medals, firmly establishing the position of the SLAF Taekwondo Team as the undisputed Champions of the tournament.
