CASUALTY EVACUATION MISSION BY THE 9TH SRI AVIATION CONTINGENT - MINUSCA

Sri Aviation Bria in the Central African Republic was tasked with undertaking an early dawn Casualty Evacuation mission (CASEVAC) on 20 May 2024. Mi-17 UNO 324P was designated to carry out the challenging CASEVAC operation. It was done with a strong sense of purpose and professionalism, understanding the critical nature of the mission and the importance of ensuring the safe evacuation of individuals needing urgent medical attention.

The mission was captained by Wing Commander Nadun Deneththi and the Co-pilot was Flight Lieutenant Dinuka Gunasinghe, who set out with dedication and commitment to achieve success in the CASEVAC mission, which was supported by the other crew members from the initial planning stages to the execution of the operation. The mission was carried out to evacuate three UN members who met with a vehicle accident in a remote location in the Rafai area.
